Imperfect – Scene 02 – Deception

Imperfect Deception Like all good agents, Charlie had a backup plan in case he was arrested. The crux of his plan was that the automatic surveillance needed to see him active over the next few days. He’s got a friend who is the same height and build as him. Sometimes he plays the part of Charlie when Charlie is off doing other things in other places. All of the cell members know him as Charlie Too. We needed to take Charlie’s terminal and some clothes to Charlie Too so that he could hang out in public and interact with the social networks. That way the world would still have Charlie at large, and hopefully the police would think that too. The sooner we got this going the better. Done well, it would give Charlie’s public defender a trail showing that…

Imperfect – Scene 01 – Realisation

Imperfect Realisation I collected what I needed for my trip to see the place that I was born, and having psyched myself up for the trip I left the house. Almost as soon as I did I saw Rosie coming towards me at a very rapid walking pace and with a serious determined look on her face. She was only about ten feet away when I noticed her. "Hi, Rosie!" I cheerily greeted her. "Back inside. Quickly!" she replied, grabbing and spinning me round as she got to me without slowing down. As soon as we were inside Rosie apologised for handling me, "Look, I'm sorry about being rough on you, but it's important that we stick together for a bit. Have you seen Charlie or Cat recently?" "I haven't seen Charlie since yesterday morning, nor Cat since about tea-time yesterday.…

Imperfect (Exodus #2) Serialised

Following on from having posted Perfects in each of the five chapters I have decided to post Imperfect as well. However I intend to post it in smaller pieces and more frequently. Every other day for the next couple of weeks there will be one of the scenes from Imperfect posted here. Synopsis of Imperfect (Exodus #2) Following on from where Perfects left off, with Charlie arrested by the police and the fate of the others in his cell unknown. Pandora sets off to find where she was born in the hope of finding her mother, however Rosie catches her leaving the house and together they discover what has happened to the others and set off on a daring plan to rescue them. Pandora steps irrevocably onto the wrong side of the law, kidnapping national police officers and learning to…

Character Profile – Cat Lewis

Cat Lewis is the fourth ‘perfect’ living in the shared house. Like the others she also grew up in Dawkins House. Cat has a very technical bent, and understands how things work. She doesn’t get overtly involved in Charlie’s nefarious activities, but knows about them and sometimes helps out behind the scenes. Physical description Cat is about 22, slim, average height and with black hair and an elfin face with large blue eyes. Her hair is just below the shoulder, although it is often tied up somehow. She dresses in black most of the time, although varies her clothes according to the social situation, getting glammed up with Rosie when they go out clubbing or to a party. When at work she tends to wear black trousers and black t-shirts or jerseys (depending on the weather). Like the others, her…

Perfects – Chapter 5 Discovery

Chapter 4 - Beginning CHAPTER FIVE Discovery Our usual routine involved an hour or so of stooging around without wearing a terminal, not even a supposedly switched-off one. We usually started by leaving home on a back route and taking a bike ride or a bus to the local shopping area, we always worked during the busiest hours. Once we were in the shopping area we needed to find a crowd. Once we’d got into the crowd, dropping down to tie a shoe lace would normally put you out of sight of any followers or cameras. A quick change of hat, and perhaps turning a hoodie inside out would be enough to help that process on. Once we’d spent some time making sure no-one was following us, we’d make our way to the meeting point. I was usually first there,…
